Different Types of Genres

We all have a different taste in music so here are some of the genres that make our music listening a unique experience.

Electronic Dance Music (EDM)

  • Electronic dance music (EDM), also known as dance music, club music, or simply dance, is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres made largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals.

  • Artists: Tiesto, Marshmello, Calvin Harris, and David Guetta

Hip Hop / Rap

  • This genre is a verbal style that uses rhythm and lyrics, but typically doesn’t have a melody. You can think of it as poetry with a beat.

  • Artist: Eminem, Lil Wayne, Drake, G-Eazy, and Travis Scott.

Pop Music

  • Pop is a genre of popular music that started in the mid-1950s. 

  • Artists: Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Khalid. 

Latin

  • Latin music is a term used by the music industry that entails many styles of music from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and the United States

  • Artist: J Balvin, Maluma, Becky G, Shakira, Bad Bunny, and Juanes

Country Music

  • A form of popular music that started in the south, often times this type of music tells a story. It consists of a mixture of ballads and dance tunes played on fiddle, telecaster, steel guitar, drums, and keyboard.

  • Artist: Luke combs, Morgan Wallen, Thomas Rhett, and Chris Stapleton

Rock

  • A form of popular music that has adapted from rock and roll and pop music during the mid and late 1960s. This genre relies heavily more on louder vocals, guitars, drums, 

  • Artists: Daughtry, Nickelback, Green day, All American Rejects, and The Fray.
